ABOUT NT FERRO

For over 40 years, NT Ferro Estate & Custom has been owned and operated by Nicholas Jr. and Beverly Ferro.

In 1947 my father came to this country and established Essex Jewelers in New Jersey. For over 45 years our family business has created fine custom jewelry for stores across the country. When it came to quality, my father, Nicholas, Sr. was uncompromising and today NT Ferro Jewelers carries on the same tradition of excellence.

From the latest international designs to our unique estate pieces carefully selected from all over the world, you are assured of the NT Ferro mark of excellence. And if you are looking for something truly unique, our Custom Design Studio can create that special piece personally for you – jewelry you will treasure for years to come.”

- Nick Ferro, owner

A FAMILY TRADITON

Nicholas Ferro Sr., a native of Naples, Italy and self-trained jeweler, moved to the United States in the early 1900s. In 1947, he opened Essex Jewelers, a manufacturing company in Newark, New Jersey.

Shortly after studying design at Pratt Institute and business at Pace University in the late 1960s, Nick and his two inherited the manufacturing business. They continued running the business until, in the 1970s, he and his wife Beverly opened a small jewelry store in Bernardsville, New Jersey. They featured custom designs and jewelry renovations done on the premises. Nick completed several diamond and colored stone certifications with the Gemological Institute of America and the American Gem Society, and is registered with the American Gem Society.

In 1981, Nick and Beverly sold the Barnardsville store and moved with their children to Woodstock, Vermont to enjoy all the area had to offer. In 1995, Nick won first prize for a diamond ring design in the Debeers Design Contest held in New York City. In the late 1990s, NT Ferro was awarded the American Gem Trade Association Spectrum prize twice for custom designs.

The Ferro name continues to be associated with jewelry across Vermont. Nick’s son Bryan, like his father, grew up in the jewelry business. In 2006, Bryan opened the doors to his own jewelry store in Stowe, Ferro Estate & Custom Jewelers, becoming the third generation of Ferros to join the jewelry business.

Recognizing the high quality and uniqueness of jewelry from the early 1900’s, Nicholas & Beverly have acquired pieces from all over the world and now house one of the most extensive Estate & Antique jewelry departments in all of New England. They also continue to create one of a kind pieces that supports one's individual tastes and desires.
